A hyrax is a small, herbivorous mammal found in Africa and the Middle East. Despite its rabbit-like appearance, it’s more closely related to elephants and manatees. Hyraxes live in rocky areas and are known for their social behavior, often found in groups called “herds.” They have a distinctive, high-pitched call and use their strong feet to climb steep rock faces.
